At Abstracta, we have been working to create better soundscapes since 1972 – which makes us acoustics pioneers. Today, we offer a wide variety of solutions for different types of environments and requirements – from thoughtfully designed sound-absorbent screens and surfaces to innovative furniture with integrated acoustic characteristics. And in close collaboration with some of the world’s most influential contemporary designers, we are constantly exploring new ways to create better soundscapes.

Design, colour, flexibility. Three key elements that reinterpret the historical tradition of Crassevig and lead it towards a new dimension, a reality made of solutions. For over 50 years, the Scandinavian-inspired design chairs and interior solutions by Crassevig have envisioned a timeless approach that interprets reality and evolves with it. Our care for materials and aesthetical emphasis are expressed in a personalised design, with soft and versatile lines that distinguish us and catch the eye of designers and architects.

Jacaranda HyperFocal: 0

The spark for Jacaranda was created back in 2003 when a friend showed me an “interesting” carpet sample that had landed on his desk. “It’s unusual, handmade in India and great value for its quality, but sadly not right for my business” he said.  I contacted the supplier, flew to India within the week and ordered my first container of carpet. A company had to follow quickly, which I named Jacaranda after the trees that lined the streets of New Delhi with beautiful purple flowers on that first visit. Flowers that reminded me of the Jacaranda tree that dominated the Cape Town garden of my childhood.
